The Lightwave® is an intuitive, compact UV-Vis spectrophotometer ideal for DNA/RNA purity and quantity measurements, protein assays, cell density determinations, quality assurance tests, and other tasks. It features a menu-driven display for easy access to absorbance and transmittance data, user-created programs, and full-spectrum scans. Due to its diode-array detector, the Lightwave® can provide absorbance and transmittance scans from 200-825nm almost instantaneously. Its enlarged graphics display and zoom function facilitate data analysis and peak identification. When not in use, the Lightwave® operates in a unique "simmer mode" that extends the life of both the tungsten and deuterium bulbs and reduces warm-up time. Warm-up time is further reduced by the Lightwave's® innovative lightpath which eliminates the need for moving parts. This unique lightpath also eliminates the need for a light cover, speeding testing, increasing throughput, and permitting the use of non-standard height cuvettes. Microprocessor control permits ratio (including A260/280), multi-wavelength, and kinetic measurements. Up to 99 user-created programs can be programmed with output in concentration units or ratios.
